Again, I will list these families by county and by proximity to each other. I will also use the spelling that was used in the census as to Putnam and Putman.
Listing is 00100001 01100001. He is in his 60s, Hester Johnson in her 50s. Number 550, been here and will be here through the 1850.
Listing is 10111 20002. They are in their 20s. He is number 1394, a son of the above Elisha. He was born here June 14, 1800. He married Maria Russ here. He is a brewer and the family will move to New York City in about 7 years. Maria will die in the mid 1840s and he will marry Rachel DeCrout in NYC in 1850. They will be in the 1850 census, and then he will die in 1851, and Rachel will be there widowed in 1860. Just a quick preview.
Listing is 01010001 00123001. Both in their 50s. David and Jeanette Angus have been here since the 1790s. He’s number 553, a brother of the above Elisha. David will die here August 9, 1832. Jeanette will be here forever.
Listing is 00101 000001001. They are in their 30s, the older woman in her 60s. He is James Angus Putman, son of David Putnam and Jeannette Angus from Montgomery County. He will marry Nancy Sickles here in 1834. The gal shown here might be a first wife and the older woman her mother, or they could just be relatives. Not certain here, but he will marry Nancy and be here through the 1850 census at least. He was born here November 2, 1801.
Listing is 00101001 000000101. He is in his 50s, his wife in her 40s and another woman in her 60s. The name is hard to read but is listed as Puttman but really looks like Pullman. Not a Putnam as best we can determine.
Listing is 210001 000001. Both in their 30s. He is a son of Johannes Putman and Elizabeth Vedder. He was born in Amsterdam, Montgomery County October 9, 1799, and married Eliza Ann Johnson December 2, 1820. They will be here until 1836 and then will move to Shiawassee County, Michigan. This line is Cornelius > Johannes > Louis > Cornelius > Johannes Putman.
Listing is 10001 00001. Both in their 20s. I think his wife is Philena Mason? He will die in the 30s and Philena and two kids will be in Michigan in 1850. See Hillsdale County, Michigan in the 1850 census. He should be the son of Anthony Putnam and Rebecca Spooner of Bethel, Vermont. Ebenezer is named for his grandfather number 474 from Sutton, Mass. and then Bethel, Vermont.
Listing is 000001001 111001. The youngsters are in their 30s, dad (Archelaus # 1903) in his 60s. They are here in 1840. The son is from New Hampshire and is wife is Nancy Wood. He’s a son of Archelaus Putnam (#1903) and Martha Hawkins of Wilton, New Hampshire. He’s Archelaus 4th. He was born in Wilton. The line is this Archelaus > Archelaus 1903 > Archelaus 774 > Archelaus 286 > Nathaniel > Benjamin > Nathaniel > John Putnam.

Listing is 10001 10001. They are in their late 20s. He is number 1174, a son of Samuel Putnam (466) and Ruth Spencer of Charlestown, NH. He was born in Weathersfield, Vermont September 2, 1799. His wife is Sarah Lane. He was here in 1820 living with his brother Roswell. Gave this line back in 1820. They will move to Jackson County Michigan and Jeremy will die there in the late 1830s and Sarah and the kids are there in 1840 through 1870.
Listing is 0010001 000001. He is in his 40s, Lucy in her 30s. They came in 1817, and will be here for a few years, and then will head west to Elmira, Chemung County. They will be there in 1840, 1850 and 1860. Gave his line in 1820. He and Seth are brothers.
Listing is 221001 001001. Both he and Mary are in their 30s. He lives next door to the above Thomas, but is Jeremy’s brother. He was born November 13, 1790 in Charlestown, Sullivan County New Hampshire. He is number 1170. His line is Roswell (1170) > Samuel (466) > Timothy (191) > Seth (49) > Thomas > Thomas > John. He married Mary ‘Millie’ Parks in Springfield, Vermont January 22, 1818. He’ll be in Sandford, Broome County through the 1850, and then simply vanish before 1860. He will die in Portland, Oregon, but I don’t when.
SETH PUTNAM Colesville, Broome County
Listing is 0113101 01001. He was here in 1820 and will be here till he dies in 1857.
Listing is 11020001 1120001. He is in his 60s, Mary Walters in her 50s. They were in Olean in 1820, but will remain here until they both die in the 1840s. See the 1820 for thoughts.
Listing is 1112001 1010001. He and his wife Mary Cook are both in their 40s. He is a son of George David Putman and Mary Ferguson. They were in Madison County in 1820 and will be in Sardinia, Erie County in 1840 and then in Huron County, Ohio where he will die in 1848. His kids are back in Cattaraugus County, but will be in Ohio with him in 1840 and 1850.
Listing is 110101 00001. He’s in his 40s, she in her 30s. He is a son of the following Lewis Putnam (1722) and Nancy Wilson. Asa was born December 2, 1797 in Hebron, Washington County, NY and will die here August 3, 1872. He married Lucinda Storke January 10, 1822 here in Brutus. She died in 1828, and he then married her sister Louisa Storke March 4, 1829.
Listing is 100101 10101. He’s 40s she is 30s. Yes, another son of Lewis and Nancy. He was born in Hebron September 12, 1799. His wife is Annice St. John. They were married here February 24, 1825. She will die May 31, 1839, and he will marry Eliza Goodell.
Listing is 00101001 00010001. They are now in their 50s with some kids still at home. He is number 1722, and has been here since 1805. He is a son of Asa Putnam and Anna Collins of Brattleboro, Vermont. He’ll be here in 1840, and then will die in 1845.
Listing is 10001 0000101. A son of the above Lewis and Nancy. The couple are in their 20s, the older woman in her 40s (maybe her mom). Lewis was born in Hebron, New York July 6, 1803. His wife is named Emeline McGee. They were married here January 1, 1829. They will be here in 1850.

Listing is 120101 10001. He’s in his 30s. Jacob is a son of David Johannes Putman and Hannah Van Antwerp. His wife is Hannah Lewis. They came from Tribes Hill in Montgomery County about 16 years ago, and will be here the rest of their lives. Dutch family.
Listing is 1000101 1202101. He is listed as Patman as are the next two guys. Aaron and John are definitely brothers, and Lewis may be too. He will be here in 1840 as well. Dutch.
Listing is 10102101 11221001. He is also listed as a Patman, but is a Putman and was here in 1820 and married to Eve Lepper. . His official Dutch name is Johnannes Jacobuse ‘John’ Putman a son of Jacobus Arentse Putman and Sarah Teunise Osterhouldt. He was born September 8, 1792 in Tribes Hill, Montgomery County New York and will die in Lamartine, Fond du Lac County Wisconsin September 16 1874. His wife Eve’s name is Aevje Frederickse Lepper born in Fonda, Montgomery County in 1797. They were married in Fonda Montgomery County March 31, 1818. They were in Cato, Cayuga County in 1820, Victory, Cayuga County, and will be in DeWitt, Onondaga County New York in 1840, then in Fond du Lac County Michigan in 1850 till he dies in 1874. Dutch Folks.
Listing is 2100001 1000010. Also listed as Patman. He wasn’t listed in 1820, but will be here in 1840 and his widow Abigail will be here in 1850 with the kids. In 1840, he will be in nearby Sterling. Based on the fact they moved together, I am pretty sure they are brothers.
Listing is 31002 00001. All three older folks are in their 20s. He is a son of the following John Putnam. Leonard, and his wife Sarah or Sally Kelley, will be off to Rome, Crawford County, Pennsylvania in the 1830s and be there the rest of their lives. I would guess the other older male is his brother Lewis, who also will go to Crawford County in the early 1840s.
Listing is 01001001 00320001. In their 50s. He is a son of Jonas Putnam (606) and his wife Rhoda of Sutton, Mass. His wife is Sabra Preston. Their kids head to Crawford County, Pennsylvania shortly and will be there in 1840. John and Sabra will be here through 1850. Sabra will be widowed in 1860 in Westfield, Chautauqua County at age 80 living with her daughter Carolyn and her husband Edwin Edgerton.
Listing is 0100001 012201. He’s in his 40s, she’s a bit younger. He is another son of Jonas and Rhoda Putnam. He is John’s brother. Ephron was born March 22, 1789 and will die here January 22, 1839. His widow Phebe Wilmarth will be here in 1840.
Listing is 20001 01001. In their 20s. He is a son of Andrew Putnam and Azuba Stanhope of Madison County, New York. He is number 2842, and will be here through at least the 1850 census. His wife is Zerueah Lawrence.
Listing is 10101 10001. In their 20s. He is number 2844, a son of Andrew Putnam (1284) and Azuba Stanhope. He was born here in Brookfield January 5, 1807. He married Alvira Schofield here in February 1827.
Listing is 00012 00000001. She is Azuba Stanhope, Andrew’s widow. Andrew (1284) had just died June 14, 1828. She is in her 50s with a couple of sons in their 20s still at home.
Listing is 01001 010001. In their 30s. Another of Andrew’s children. He was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts February 28, 1795. His present wife is Tracy Fenner (they were married January 19, 1817), but she will die and he will marry Lucy Winchell here September 10, 1833.
Listing is 12001 110001. In their 30s. And yet another of Andrew’s kids. They will all be here through at least the 1850 census (far as I have gotten so far). Gilbert was born in Brookfield, Madison County, New York on June 21, 1797. His wife is Thankful Rogers. This whole family has been here since 1817.
Listing is 131001 201001. In their 40s. He is number 1318, a son of William Putnam (530) and Submit Fisk of Sutton, and then Buckland, Massachusetts. Abner was born in Buckland on July 28, 1794. He married Vesta Mallery back in Buckland on April 28, 1818. They will be here all the rest of their lives. This line goes back Abner > William > Elisha > Elisha > Edward > Thomas > John.
Listing is 00001 0001. He is in his 20s, she her late teens. He is number 2843, a son of Andrew Putnam (1284) and Azuba Stanhope. He was born in Brookfield, Chautauqua County July 27, 1804. He just has married Sally Smith on February 19, 1829.
Listing is 111001 01001. He’s in his 30s, Nancy her 20s. He could be the second male that was in his 20s here in Norwich in 1810 with Sewell Putnam, the same age at that time. Henry was here in 1820 also. They are in Livingston County in 1840.
Listing is 0020001 211001. He’s in his early 40s, Deborah Kimball in her 30s. They will be here till he dies in 1862. He’s a son of Jacob Putnam (779) from Temple, NH.
Listing is 0011001 0010001. He’s in his 40s. He is the Asaph who has been in Moreau, Saratoga County in 1810 and 1820. He is a son of Asaph Putnam number 605. There was an Aaron here in 1820, but that guy is now off in Queensbury, Warren County. This is the last time I find this Asaph. His wife might be Sarah ?
Listing is 1201201 101001. He’s in his 40s, she her 30s. Calvin is number 1851, a son of Nathaniel Putnam (762) and his second wife Phebe Snow. Calvin was born in Wilton, New Hampshire June 8, 1782. He married Chloe Chapin in Heath, Massachusetts in 1804, but she has died. His present wife is Amy Clark, they were married in 1818. He will be here the rest of his life, or until May 9, 1857 (whichever comes first). His son Eliphalet will be here married also in 1840.
Listing is 00001001 0001101. He’s in his 50s, she in her 40s. He is the above Calvin’s brother. He is number 1847, a son of Nathaniel and his first wife Mary Eastman. He was born in Wilton on March 15, 1775. His wife is Anna Brown. They were married in Windsor, Connecticut on October 30, 1806.
Listing is 100001 21011. He’s in his 30s, she in her 20s.
Listing is 200021001 0010100. He is in his 60s. This is the another New England Putnam family. Thomas Putnam came to Connecticut with his brother John in 1789 from the north of England, in Yorkshire. Thomas moved to New Hampshire and was there in 1790. He then went to Connecticut where his brother was, and then to Windsor, Windsor County, Vermont by the 1810, back to Washington, New Hampshire by the 1820, and now out here. He is married to Rosamond Rounseval, and she is back in Vermont. Tom will return to Windsor County and die there in 1831. Rosamond will be with her son Thomas in Hopkinton, Mass. and die there July 28, 1859. His son Thomas is the one who is 30 and his wife Sophia Sherman in her 20s. There are also what looks like two other sons here who I am not sure about. One should be Henry. The other one would be Jerome who married Harriet Kiff here in Kortwright on March 1, 1830 and will be in Tioga County, Pennsylvania in 1840. Young Thomas Henry will be in Hopkinton, Mass. by 1840, but not make the census until 1850 with his second wife Harriet Davenport and a bunch of kids. The two young guys here are Thomas junior’s sons George who is 1 and Henry who is 3. They too will be in Hopkinton by the late 1830s .
Listing is 1100001 120001. He is in his 40s. He was here in 1820, and will be in 1840 and 1850. He is number 2207, son of Aaron Putnam (936) and Olive Osborne from Fairfield, Connecticut. His wife is Hannah Roe.
Listing is 100101 0000100101. He’s in his 30s, his wife her 20s. Then there are women in their 50s and 70s here. He’ll be here through at least the 1850 census. He is a son of George Putman and Mary Ferguson. Mary is the older woman shown here, her husband George died here in 1829. He was born in Otsego County in 1792, and will die here in 1858. Dutch line. The older guy is his brother Robert born here in 1803, and will die here in 1834. His mom and brother David will also be here in 1840.
Listing is 100001 03001. In his 30s. He is a son of the following Asa Putnam. He was born about 1796 in Vermont. He will be here in 1840, and gone by 1850. His wife is Ruhama Marshall.
Listing is 000100001 00010001. In his 60s, with kids in their 20s. This is NOT the same Asa who was here in Essex County in 1820. This one is number 897, a son of Tarrant Putnam (334) and his first wife Mary Porter. He was born in Danvers, Massachusetts December 28, 1763, and then moved with his folks to Newbury, Orange County, Vermont. There he married Polly Fowler, and they have moved to New York. Both will remain here until their deaths. Asa will die in 1839, Polly in 1858.
Listing is 100001 2001. He is Elisha Porter Putnam (906) in his 30s, Elizabeth Brown his wife in her 20s. Elisha is a son of Tarrant Putnam (334) and his second wife Eunice Porter, and a brother of the above Asa. He will be here in 1840 and his widow will be here in 1850.
Listing is 0011101 0100001. He is number 1889, a son of Archelaus Putnam (769) and Mary Nichols of Andover, Vermont. He married Phebe Parker January 27, 1801. They are in their 40s. In 1840 his widow Phebe is here. By 1860, Phebe age 77 MA is living with her daughter Dorcas 36 VT and near her son James Putnam 41 VT and his family. Though she was not indexed in 1850, she obviously was here.
Listing is 011101 100002. He and his wife are in their 30s. He is number 1729, a son of Asa Putnam (718) and Anna Collins of Brattleboro, Vermont. He was born there January 5, 1793. He married Myra Osborn in Skaneateles, NY in 1817. He will die here on September 20, 1855, and Myra will die here March 10, 1863. He was a Representative to Congress from 1839 thru 1852, and was also a State Senator and a member of the Court. His line is Harvey > Asa > Josiah > Josiah > John > Nathaniel > John. He will be here in 1840, and still in 1850 except Attica will be in Wyoming County at that time.
Listing is 1000001 033001. In their 40s. He was born in Tolland County, Connecticut. Problem is that he was illegitimate so can’t be sure of his folks. Frederick’s wife is Lucretia Ely. The son is Frederick Alonzo Putnam. They were in Madison County in 1820 and will be here in 1840. They will be in Clarendon, Orleans County in 1850.
Listing is 00002 10012. He is number 2447, a son of Caleb (#1085) and Elizabeth Rynex Putnam. He was born in Rome, Oneida County, New York in 1802. His wife is named Hannah. They will be in Niagara County in 1850.
Listing is 00002 0001. He is number 2450, Valentine’s brother and one of Caleb’s sons. He was born in 1809 in Rome.
EDWARD PUTNAM Warsaw, Genesee County
Listing is 1110002 012101. In their 40s, and they were here in 1820 in Batavia, and will be here in Warsaw in 1840, and in 1850 will still be here in Warsaw, but it will be in Wyoming County at that time. See 1820 for his story.
Listing is 200001 000001. In their 30s. These next two guys are related. The 1840 index for Genesee County seems to be lacking a great number of folks. Don’t know if they are here or not, but they are gone by 1850. My guess is that this Richard is a son of Gilbert Putman and Catherine Schall. Dutch line.
Listing is 020001 1001. He is in his 30s. He is the son of Arent Derrick Putman and Alida Wilson. Derrick and Gilbert were brothers from Montgomery County, NY. Dutch line. His first wife Hannah will die here in 1839. Don’t find him in 1840 (probably with his brother John in Washtenaw County, Michigan where his folks already are) and the by 1850 he will be remarried and in Bowne, Kent County, Michigan.
Listing is 010101 000101. He is in his 30s. He is the son of Arent Derrick Putman and Alida Wilson from Montgomery County New York. Dutch line. His wife is Sally Ann who was born in Connecticut. They will be in Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan by 1836. By the 1840, he will be shown with a whole mob of people, probably Simeon and his family (his wife Hannah died here in 1839, and he headed out then) and his folks who are already out there now.
Listing is 00001 1001. He is in his 20s, she her late teens. He is here in 1840, 1850 and 1860 in Bethany. He is married to Olive Lord. She will die and he will marry Lydia Shaw in about 1836. He is one of Peter Putnam 2nd (1080) and Susan’s sons. He was born May 23, 1801, and will die May 15, 1873.
Listing is 00002 0001. Two guys in their 20s with a wife in her teens. He is a son of Peter Putnam and Susan Osgood. His wife is Maria Lord. He’ll be here through 1850 and then will move to Michigan. He was born January 8, 1809 and will die November 29, 1890.
Listing is 0022101 0110001. He’s in his 40s. He is Peter 3rd, a son of Peter Putnam (1080). He was born in Andover, Vermont December 6, 1785 and will be here through the 1850 census, then will die here May 3, 1857. He married Prudence Johnson. The line is Peter > Peter (1080) > Peter (421) > Caleb > John > John > John Putnam.
Listing is 01212 1010101. She is in her 40s, kids in their teens. She is Phebe Burroughs, the widow of Franklin Putnam who was here in 1810 - 1820. Franklin died here December 20, 1826. Phebe was born in Whitehall New York February 22, 1789 and was a daughter of Daniel and Melleson Burroughs.
Listing is 0002201 00001. He is in his 40s, and seems to be widowed. He well may be Stephen’s brother. I don’t have a good handle on that family.
Listing is 110001 111001. He’ll in his 30s, Lucy in her 20s. He’s been here a while now. In 1840 he will be in Summit County, Ohio, back in Genesee County in 1850, and in 1860 in Clarendon County, Michigan.

Listing is 11 0100001. She’s in her 40s. Hannah Janes is the widow of Gardner Putnam who died here in 1827. She will be living with a married daughter in 1840, so doesn’t pop up at all. In 1850 we find her at age 60 from Massachusetts. living in Frankfort, Herkimer County. New Englanders.

DAVID PUTNAM Herkimer, Herkimer County
Listing is 100011 10001. He’s in his 30s, his wife Eve Smith is younger. A son of the upcoming John.

Listing is 10000001 002001. He’s in his 50s, Catherine in her 40s. They have been here since the early 1800s. He’s David’s son.
Listing is 2210001 110002. He’s in his 40s. He is a son of Johannes (John) Lewis and Lucy Putman. He was born in Johnstown, Montgomery County August 11, 1788 and married Rebecca Frayer there September 23, 1813. They were in Johnstown in the 1820. I don’t find him listed in 1840, but he has gone to Jefferson County and will die in Hounsfield there. In 1850 Rebecca and the kids are there, and by 1860 she has died and the kids are all back in Montgomery County. Dutch, the line goes Eben > John L. > Lodowyck (Lewis) & Elizabeth Suits > Arent Janse & Elizabeth Ackerman > Johannes or Jan Putman.
Listing is 00001 00001. In their 20s. He is a son of Solomon and Margaret. He was born here June 15, 1801 and recently married Elizabeth Emhoff. In 1840 and 1850, they will be in Theresa, Jefferson County, and then head to Wisconsin. He will die in Sparta, Monroe County, Wisconsin in October 1870.
Listing is 011001 112001. In their 30s. He is a son of Isaac who was here with him in 1820. He died and mentioned Jacob in his will. Jacob has been here in 1820 and will be through 1860. He will die here in October 1866.
Listing is 00200001 01120001. In their 50s. He and Margaret are still here. I don’t find them in 1840. They are probably still around, but may have gone with sons to Jefferson County. They don’t get into the 1840 index anywhere though. The sons still at home are Isaac and Israel. All the three sons will be off to Theresa, Jefferson County and then out to Wisconsin in the 1860s.

Listing is 211000101 111101000. He is a son of Abijah Putnam and a grandson of Tarrant Putnam number 342. The older male here would be his father Abijah who is widowed as his wife has died. He is married to Minerva Scott. They were in North East, Erie County, Pennsylvania in 1820. They will head off to Canada where their youngest son Henry will be born in 1837. Then by the 1850 census will be in Winnebago County, Illinois. They were here in the 1825 State Census, as was Abijah. Abijah will be here with another son, Daniel, widow Dianna in 1840. He will die October 17, 1849.
Listing is 01001 00101. He and Lois Thomas are in their 20s. They will be in Adams, Jefferson County after this. He is a son of Elihu Putnam of Guilford, Vermont who came here to Jefferson County in the early 1800s.
Listing is 0011001 001001. He’s in his 40s, she her 30s. He is number 2150, a son of Moses Putnam (907) and Mary Allen of Sutton, Massachusetts. He was born there August 17, 1788 and married Lavinia Livermore in Sutton on March 12, 1813. They will be here through the 1850 census.

His wife is Zenia Green. They will be here through 1850. His mother was here in the 1825 census, but has died here February 8, 1829.
Listing is 10001 01001. He and Sarah Renshaw are both in their 20s. He is a son of Christopher Putman and Elizabeth Vrooman. They were here in 1820, and are in Niagara County next.
PERLEY PUTNAM Lyme, Jefferson County
Listing is 12001 101001. He is in his 30s, she her 40s. He is a son of John and Hannah Putman. John is Eben’s number 1341. They were here, and are now in Oswego County. His brother Asa is there as well, but will be back here in 1840. Perley was born in Herkimer County, New York. His family was from Guilford, Windham County, Vermont. He married Prudence Allen on May 18, 1818.

(1285) and Sarah Blount who are now in Henderson, Jefferson County, New York.

0200001 10001. He is in his 40s. He is a son of Derrick Putman and Nellie Van Brocklin of Montgomery County. He was born there April 27, 1783. He married Hannah Rudd October 4, 1803. They will head out to Wayne County, Michigan about 1834-35, as he has land transactions at that time. He will die in the mid 1840s, and Hannah will be shown as a widow in 1850 in Butler, Wayne County. This line is Lewis > Derrick > Lodowyck (Lewis) > Arent J. > Johannes Putman.
Listing is 00112001 00021001. He and Phebe are now in their 50s. He is number 1049, a son of Eleazer Putnam of Medford, Massachusetts. I gave his line back in 1810.
Listing is 1202001 010101. He is in his 50s, Sarah Shaw, his wife, in her 30s. They will be in Villanova, Chautauqua County in 1840 and 1850. He is number 986a, a son of Charles Putnam (385) and Martha Rose of Preston, Connecticut where he was born.

Also, Peter's son Calvin Putnam is said to have died on 31 Nov. 1834 in Brutus, which would mean that Peter would have been somewhere nearby in 1830. This is probably him. Peter is missing in 1840 but a few of his older sons can be found living in Rochester in the 1840 census. Now Peter is married to his second wife. Peter will move to Calhoun County, Michigan where he will die on 25 Feb. 1847. Donմ think wife 2 went along and the George and Elizabeth still in Elbridge should be theirs.

In 1840 his son David will be married here as well.

They are all sons of Gideon Putnam (549) and Doanda Risley of Sutton, Massachusetts and then Middlebury, Vermont. Look back in 1790 and get Gideon’s life. He ran a huge hotel in Saratoga Springs. The son Washington presently runs the hotel, the Union Hotel. Anyway, this guy is Benjamin Risley Putnam number 1381. He was born in Rutland, Vermont July 23, 1788 just before the family jumped the border into New York. He married Eunice Morgan here February 2, 1812. He will be here until October 10, 1846 when a horse kicked him in the head and did him in. All these five guys have a line of Gideon > Stephen > Elisha > Edward > Thomas > John.

Henry will die here in 1834. His wife is Julia and the kids are David and
Henrietta. Not sure where Julia and the kids are off to after this but the son
Alfred David Putnam will die in New York City on 28 Sep 1886 at the age of
54. His death record lists his parents as Henry Putnam, born in Saratoga, N.Y.
and Julia Putnam, born in Greenbush, N.Y. Matt Putnam found all of this and
more. I found it as a kinda blank, but Matt put in over 200 hours and figured
the whole damn thing out.

Best I can guess is that he is the John Putman, junior as shown in Canajoharie, Montgomery County in 1820. The NY 1855 state census shows that he has died by then, but that his wife Elizabeth and daughter Eliza were born in Montgomery County. Eliza was born in 1818, which ties in with that 1820 census.

He was born in Stafford, Tolland County, Connecticut on February 25, 1786. He came to New York in about 1807 with his folks. The family was in Lewis County, NY for the 1810 and 1820 census. Cornelius 4th married his first wife, Happy Miller in Lewis County on March 31, 1810. She died in 1821, and he married Sophia Harris in 1824. She died in 1827 and he married Lucy Price Sherman, a widow, in 1829. She died in 1832 and he married Matilda Bradley on July 15, 1842 here in Wayne County. This is the final marriage for both these folks. Cornelius will die here December 2, 1850. This line goes back Cornelius 4th > Cornelius 3rd > Cornelius 2nd (339) > Cornelius (127) > Benjamin > Nathaniel > John.
